حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْجَهْمِ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرِ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَبْرَةَ حَدَّثَهُ مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي حَبِيبَةَ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ قَالَ
لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ هَرَبَ عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ أَبِي جَهْلٍ وَكَانَتِ امْرَأَتُهُ أُمَّ حَكِيمِ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ امْرَأَةً عَاقِلَةً أَسْلَمَتْ ثُمَّ سَأَلَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْأَمَانَ لِزَوْجِهَا فَأَمَرَهَا بِرَدِّهِ فَخَرَجَتْ فِي طَلَبِهِ وَقَالَتْ لَهُ جِئْتُكَ مِنْ عِنْدِ أَوْصَلِ النَّاسِ وَأَبَرِّ النَّاسِ وَخَيْرِ النَّاسِ وَقَدِ اسْتَأْمَنْتُ لَكَ فَأَمَّنَكَ فَرَجَعَ مَعَهَا فَلَمَّا دَنَا مِنْ مَكَّةَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِأَصْحَابِهِ «يَأْتِيَكُمْ عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ أَبِي جَهْلٍ مُؤْمِنًا مُهَاجِرًا فَلَا تَسُبُّوا أَبَاهُ فَإِنَّ سَبَّ الْمَيِّتِ يُؤْذِي الْحَيَّ وَلَا يَبْلُغُ الْمَيِّتَ» فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ بَابَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ اسْتَبْشَرَ وَوَثَبَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَائِمًا عَلَى رِجْلَيْهِ فَرِحًا بِقُدُومِهِحذفه الذهبي من التلخيص لضعفه

✧ On the day of the conquest of Makkah, 'Ikrimah b. Abi Jahl fled. His wife, Umm Hakim bt. al-Harith b. Hisham, was a sensible woman who had accepted Islam. She asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for protection for her husband, and he instructed her to bring him back. She went out seeking him and said to him: 'I have come to you from the most upholding of people, the most righteous of people, and the best of people. I have sought protection for you, and he has granted you protection.' So he returned with her. When he drew near to Makkah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to his companions: 'Ikrimah b. Abi Jahl will come to you as a believer and an emigrant, so do not insult his father, for insulting the dead hurts the living and does not reach the dead.' When he reached the door of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ rejoiced and sprang up to his feet out of joy at his arrival. Al-Dhahabi omitted it from the Talkhis due to its weakness.
