✧ "The wisest among the wise is the pious, and the weakest among the weak is immorality. As for this matter in which Muawiya and I differed, it is a rightful matter for each of us. However, Muawiya had more right to it than me, so I left it for him to decide, to seek the satisfaction of the Muslims and preserve their lives. Though I do not know, it may be a trial for you and a temporary enjoyment. I say this and seek forgiveness from Allah for me and for you." - This was omitted by Al-Dhahabi from his summary due to its weakness.
