✧ I entered with 'Ubayd Allah b. 'Abd Allah b. 'Umar a garden in which there was a pool of water containing the skin of a dead camel. He performed ablution from it. I said: Do you perform ablution from it while it contains the skin of a dead camel? He narrated to me from his father, from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: “If the water reaches two qullahs or three, nothing makes it impure.”

machine translationIt is a hadith that revolves around Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar b. al-Zubayr, who is a shaykh and not a proof in what he is alone in transmitting. Muḥammad b. Isḥāq and al-Walīd b. Kathīr narrated it from him. Some of them say in it: from Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar b. al-Zubayr, from ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar, from his father; and some of them say in it: from Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar b. al-Zubayr, from ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar, from his father. Ḥammād b. Salamah also narrated it from ʿĀṣim b. al-Mundhir, from ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar, from his father, and all of them raise it to the Prophet (marfūʿ). ʿĀṣim b. al-Mundhir is, in their view, soft (layyin), not a proof.
