فَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّيْرَفِيُّ بِمَرْوَ ثنا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ثنا مَكِّيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا السَّرِيُّ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ «مَاذَا يُتَوَقَّعُ مِنْ هَذِهِ الدُّنْيَا الدَّنِيَّةِ وَقَدْ سُمَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَسُمَّ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقُ وَقُتِلَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ حَتْفَ أَنْفِهِ وَكَذَلِكَ قُتِلَ عُثْمَانُ وَعَلِيٌّ وَسُمَّ الْحَسَنُ وَقُتِلَ الْحُسَيْنُ حَتْفَ أَنْفِهِ» السري متروك

Translation

✧ He said: "What is to be expected from this lowly world when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was poisoned, Abu Bakr al-Siddiq was poisoned, Umar b. al-Khattab was killed outright, and likewise Uthman and Ali were killed, al-Hasan was poisoned, and al-Husayn was killed outright." Al-Sari is abandoned.
