✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ died, his companions gathered around him and wept, and they assembled. Then a man entered, reddish of beard, large-bodied and handsome. He stepped over their necks, wept, then turned to the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'In Allah there is consolation from every affliction, compensation for every loss, and a successor for every perished one. So to Allah turn in repentance, and to Him turn your desire. The real bereaved is one who is not recompensed.' Then he departed. Some of them said to one another, 'Do you know the man?' Abu Bakr and Ali said, 'Yes, this is the brother of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, al-Khidr ﷺ.' This is a witness for what preceded, even though Abbad b. Abd al-Samad is not up to the standard of this book. This is a witness for what preceded it.
