✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in the morning prayer, then he turned to face us and admonished us with an exhortation that made the hearts tremble and the eyes shed tears. We said, 'O Messenger of Allah, it is as if it were the exhortation of one bidding farewell, so advise us.' He said, 'I enjoin upon you the fear of Allah, and hearing and obeying, even if a black slave is placed in authority over you. For whoever lives among you will see much disagreement. You must adhere to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided, guided caliphs. Bite upon it with the molar teeth. And beware of newly invented matters, for every innovation is misguidance.'
