أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ عِصْمَةَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا أَبِي ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أَنْبَأَ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةُ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْقُرَشِيُّ عَنْ سَيَّارٍ أَبِي الْحَكَمِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عَلِيٍّ فَقَالَ أَعِنِّي فِي مُكَاتَبَتِي فَقَالَ

أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ كَلِمَاتٍ عَلَّمَنِيهِنَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَيْكَ مِثْلُ جَبَلِ صَبِيرٍ دَيْنًا لَأَدَّاهُ اللَّهُ عَنْكَ قُلْ «اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ»

✧ Shall I not teach you words that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught me? If you had a debt like Mount Sabir, Allah would pay it off for you. Say: 'O Allah, suffice me with what You have made lawful against what You have made unlawful, and make me content with Your bounty over anyone other than You.'
