✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came upon a man in al-Baqi' while he was being cupped, and he was holding my hand, when eighteen nights of Ramadan had passed, and said, “The cupper and the one cupped have broken their fast.” I heard Muhammad b. Salih say: I heard Ahmad b. Salamah say: I heard Ishaq b. Ibrahim say: This is a sound chain that establishes proof. This hadith is authentic with multiple chains, and he held this view—may Allah be pleased with our Imam Abu Ya'qub—for he ruled a hadith whose authenticity is evident as authentic and acted upon it. Al-Thawri and Shu'bah agreed on reporting it from 'Asim al-Ahwal from Abu Qilabah in this manner.
