" مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ ضَافَ قَوْمًا فَأَصْبَحَ الضَّيْفُ مَحْرُومًا إِلَّا كَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ نَصْرُهُ حَتَّى يَأْخُذَ بِقِرَى لَيْلَتِهِ مِنْ زَرْعِهِ وَمَالِهِ
✧ "There is no man who seeks hospitality from a people and the guest wakes up deprived, except that every Muslim is obliged to help him until he takes the hospitality of his night from their crops and wealth."

" مَنْ تَرَكَ مَالًا فَلِوَرَثَتِهِ، وَمَنْ تَرَكَ كَلًّا فَإِلَيْنَا - قَالَ: وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ: فَإِلَى اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ - وَأَنَا وَارِثُ مَنْ لَا وَارِثَ لَهُ أَعْقِلُ عَنْهُ وَأَرِثُهُ، وَالْخَالُ وَارِثُ مَنْ لَا وَارِثَ لَهُ يَعْقِلُ عَنْهُ وَيَرِثُهُ
✧ "Whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his heirs, and whoever leaves behind dependents, they are our responsibility"—he said: and sometimes he said: "then to God and His Messenger"—"and I am the heir of the one who has no heir; I pay his blood-money and inherit from him, and the maternal uncle is the heir of the one who has no heir; he pays his blood-money and inherits from him."

" لَيْلَةُ الضَّيْفِ حَقٌّ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ، مَنْ أَصْبَحَ الضَّيْفُ بِفِنَائِهِ فَهُوَ لَهُ عَلَيْهِ حَقٌّ - أَوْ قَالَ: دَيْنٌ - إِنْ شَاءَ اقْتَضَاهُ وَإِنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَهُ
✧ "The guest's night is a right upon every Muslim. Whoever wakes up with the guest at his courtyard, it is a right upon him"—or he said: "a debt"—"if he wishes he may claim it, and if he wishes he may leave it."
