✧ I was with Salman under a tree, and he took a dry branch from it, shook it, and its leaves fell off. Then he said: Will you not ask me why I do this? I said: And why do you do it? He said: Thus did the Messenger of God ﷺ, then he said: 'O Salman, will you not ask me why I do this?' I said: And why do you do this, O Messenger of God? He said: When a Muslim performs wudu' and perfects it, then prays the five prayers—he said, I think he said: 'in congregation—his sins fall away just as the leaves of this tree fall away.' And the Messenger of God ﷺ recited: And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approaches of the night. Indeed, good deeds remove evil deeds.
