   مَنْ أَسْلَمَ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ رَجُلٌ وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّةُ

   ✧ Whoever a man becomes Muslim at his hands, Paradise is assured for him.

   هَلَاكُ أُمَّتِي فِي ثَلَاثٍ: فِي الْقَدَرِيَّةِ، وَالْعَصَبِيَّةِ، وَالرِّوَايَةِ مِنْ غَيْرِ ثَبْتٍ [ ثَبَاتٍ ]

   ✧ The ruin of my community lies in three things: in the Qadariyyah, in tribal partisanship, and in transmitting narrations without verification.

   لَا شِغَارَ، قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، وَمَا الشِّغَارُ ؟ قَالَ: " نِكَاحُ الْمَرْأَةِ بِالْمَرْأَةِ، وَلَا صَدَاقَ بَيْنَهُمَا

   ✧ There is no shighar. They said: O Messenger of God, and what is shighar? He said: Marrying a woman in exchange for another woman, with no dower between them.

   إِنَّ النُّطْفَةَ إِذَا اسْتَقَرَّتْ فِي الرَّحِمِ تَكُونُ نُطْفَةً أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً، ثُمَّ تَكُونُ عَلَقَةً أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً، ثُمَّ تَكُونُ مُضْغَةً أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً، ثُمَّ تَكُونُ عِظَامًا أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً، ثُمَّ يَكْسُو اللهُ الْعِظَامَ لَحْمًا، فَيَقُولُ الْمَلَكُ: أَيْ رَبِّ، ذَكَرًا أَوْ أُنْثَى ؟ فَيَقْضِي اللهُ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - وَيَكْتُبُ الْمَلَكُ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: أَيْ رَبِّ، شَقِيٌّ أَوْ سَعِيدٌ ؟ فَيَقْضِي اللهُ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - وَيَكْتُبُ الْمَلَكُ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: أَيْ رَبِّ، أَجَلُهُ وَرِزْقُهُ وَأَثَرُهُ ؟ فَيَقْضِي اللهُ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - وَيَكْتُبُ الْمَلَكُ

   ✧ When the drop of semen settles in the womb, it remains a drop for forty nights, then it becomes a clinging clot for forty nights, then it becomes a lump of flesh for forty nights, then it becomes bones for forty nights, then God clothes the bones with flesh. Then the angel says: O Lord, male or female? And God — Mighty and Majestic — decrees, and the angel writes. Then he says: O Lord, wretched or blessed? And God — Mighty and Majestic — decrees, and the angel writes. Then he says: O Lord, his term, his provision, and his deeds? And God — Mighty and Majestic — decrees, and the angel writes.

   كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَخْرُجُ إِلَى صَلَاةِ الْغَدَاةِ وَرَأْسُهُ يَقْطُرُ مِنَ الْغُسْلِ، ثُمَّ يُصْبِحُ صَائِمًا

   ✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ would go out to the dawn prayer with his head dripping from the major ablution, then he would begin the day fasting.

6. al-Mu'jam al-Saghir 445No grade recorded

   كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ حَتَّى إِذَا طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ، خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَاتَّبَعْتُهُ، فَقَالَ: انْطَلِقْ بِنَا حَتَّى نَدْخُلَ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ، فَدَخَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا، فَإِذَا هِيَ نَائِمَةٌ مُضْطَجِعَةٌ، فَقَالَ: " يَا فَاطِمَةُ، مَا يُنِيمُكِ فِي هَذِهِ السَّاعَةِ ؟ " قَالَتْ: مَا زِلْتُ عِنْدَ الْبَارِحَةِ مَحْمُومَةً قَالَ: " فَأَيْنَ الدُّعَاءُ الَّذِي عَلَّمْتُكِ ؟ " قَالَتْ: نَسِيتُهُ فَقَالَ: " قُولِي: يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ، بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ، أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ، وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ، وَلَا إِلَى أَحَدٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ

   ✧ We were with the Messenger of God ﷺ in the mosque until, when the sun rose, the Messenger of God ﷺ went out and I followed him. He said: "Come with us so that we may enter upon Fatimah bt. Muhammad." We entered upon her, and she was asleep, lying down. He said: "O Fatimah, what makes you sleep at this hour?" She said: "I have been feverish since last night." He said: "Where is the supplication I taught you?" She said: "I forgot it." He said: "Say: O Ever-Living, O Self-Subsisting, by Your mercy I seek help; set right for me all my affairs and do not entrust me to myself for the blink of an eye, nor to anyone among the people."

   لَوْ رَأَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ مَا نَرَى لَمَنَعَهُنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ كَمَا مُنِعَتْ نِسَاءُ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ

   ✧ If the Messenger of God ﷺ saw of women what we see, he would have forbidden them the mosques as the women of the Children of Israel were forbidden.

8. al-Mu'jam al-Saghir 447No grade recorded

   الْقَطْعُ فِي رُبُعِ دِينَارٍ فَصَاعِدًا

   ✧ Amputation is for a quarter dinar or more.

9. al-Mu'jam al-Saghir 448No grade recorded

   نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْخَذْفِ وَقَالَ: إِنَّهُ لَا يُصَادُ بِهَا صَيْدٌ، وَلَا يُنْكَأُ بِهَا عَدُوًّا، وَلَكِنَّهَا تَفْقَأُ الْعَيْنَ وَتَكْسِرُ السِّنَّ

   ✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ forbade throwing pebbles and said: "No game is hunted with it, nor is an enemy wounded by it, but it gouges out an eye and breaks a tooth."

    شَفَاعَتِي لِأَهْلِ الْكَبَائِرِ مِنْ أُمَّتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ

    ✧ My intercession is for the people of major sins among my community on the Day of Resurrection.

    مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ جَعَلَ اللهُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ النَّارِ خَنْدَقًا كَمَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ

    ✧ Whoever fasts one day in the path of God, God will place between him and the Fire a trench like that between heaven and earth.
