   سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الطُّفَيْلِ وَسَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ رَأَيْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ كَانَ أَبْيَضَ مَلِيحًا مُقَصَّدًا.

   ✧ I heard Abu al-Tufayl when a man asked him, “Did you see the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?” He said: “Yes, he was fair, handsome, and of moderate build.”

   " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، وَفِي الرِّجَالِ مَنْ هُوَ أَطْوَلُ مِنْهُ، وَفِيهِمْ مَنْ هُوَ أَقْصَرُ مِنْهُ

   ✧ “I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and among the men were some taller than him and some shorter than him.”

   " أَحْسَنُ مَا غَيَّرْتُمْ بِهِ الشَّيْبَ الْحِنَّاءُ، وَالْكَتَمُ " أَوْ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ يَخْتَضِبُ بِالْحِنَّاءِ، وَالْكَتَمِ

   ✧ “The best with which you can change grey hair is henna and katam,” or he said: “The Prophet ﷺ used to dye his hair with henna and katam.”

   " أَلَا رَجُلٌ يُخْبِرُنِي عَنْ مُضَرَ ؟ " فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ: أَنَا أُخْبِرُكَ عَنْهُمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَمَّا وَجْهُهَا الَّذِي فِيهِ سَمْعُهَا وَبَصَرُهَا فَهَذَا الْحَيُّ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ، وَأَمَّا لِسَانُهَا الَّذِي تُعْرِبُ بِهِ فِي أَنْدِيَتِهَا فَهَذَا الْحَيُّ مِنْ أَسَدِ بْنِ خُزَيْمَةَ، وَأَمَّا كَاهِلُهَا فَهَذَا الْحَيُّ مِنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ مُرٍّ، وَأَمَّا فُرْسَانُهَا فَهَذَا الْحَيُّ مِنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ غَيْلَانَ، قَالَ: " فَنَظَرَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَيْهِ كَالْمُصَدِّقِ لَهُ

   ✧ “Will not a man inform me about Mudar?” A man from the people said: “I will inform you about them, O Messenger of Allah. As for its face, in which are its hearing and sight, it is this tribe of Quraysh. As for its tongue, with which it speaks in its assemblies, it is this tribe of Asad b. Khuzaymah. As for its upper back, it is this tribe of Tamim b. Murr. As for its horsemen, it is this tribe of Qays b. Ghaylan.” He said: “The Prophet ﷺ looked at him as if confirming what he said.”

   " رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ يَسْتَلِمُ الرُّكْنَ بِمِحْجَنِهِ

   ✧ “I saw the Prophet ﷺ circumambulate the House on his mount, touching the corner with his staff.”

   ضَحِكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " أَلَا تَسْأَلُونِي مِمَّ ضَحِكْتُ " ؟ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مِمَّ ضَحِكْتَ ؟ قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ نَاسًا يُسَاقُونَ إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ فِي السَّلَاسِلِ قُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَنْ هُمْ ؟ قَالَ: " قَوْمٌ مِنَ الْعَجَمِ يَسْبِيهِمُ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ فَيُدْخِلُونَهُمُ الْإِسْلَامَ

   ✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed, then said: “Will you not ask me why I laughed?” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, why did you laugh?” He said: “I saw people being driven to Paradise in chains.” We said: “O Messenger of Allah, who are they?” He said: “People from the non-Arabs whom the Emigrants take captive and bring into Islam.”

   " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ، يَقْسِمُ لَحْمًا بِالْجِعْرَانَةِ فَجَاءَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ بَدَوِيَّةٌ فَبَسَطَ لَهَا رِدَاءَهُ " فَقُلْتُ: مَنْ هَذِهِ ؟ قَالُوا: هَذِهِ أُمُّهُ الَّتِي كَانَتْ تُرْضِعُهُ

   ✧ “I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributing meat at al-Jiʿrānah when a Bedouin woman came to him, and he spread his cloak for her.” I said: “Who is this?” They said: “This is his mother who used to nurse him.”

   رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ جَاءَ إِلَى زَمْزَمَ، فَقَالَ: انْزِعُوا، وَاسْقُونِي، فَلَوْلَا أَنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ تُغْلَبُوا عَلَيْهَا لَنَزَعْتُ

   ✧ I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ come to Zamzam and say: “Draw water and give me to drink, for were it not that I fear you would be overcome for it, I would draw it myself.”

   ✧ “I saw the Prophet ﷺ on his she-camel al-Qaswāʾ raising his voice in talbiyah, while the people were jostling one another, wanting to look at him.”

    ✧ “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ circumambulated the House seven times, touching the corner with a staff and kissing the tip of the staff.”

    ✧ “I saw in a dream black sheep followed by dusty-coloured sheep, and I interpreted the black sheep as the Arabs and the dusty-coloured ones as the non-Arabs.”
