51. ✧ 'Abdullah al-Sunabihi

    إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ تَطْلُعُ مَعَهَا قَرْنُ شَيْطَانٍ، فَإِذَا ارْتَفَعَتْ فَارَقَهَا، فَإِذَا اسْتَوَتْ قَارَنَهَا، فَإِذَا زَالَتْ فَارَقَهَا، فَإِذَا دَنَتْ لِلْغُرُوبِ قَارَنَهَا، فَإِذَا غَرَبَتْ فَارَقَهَا، فَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فِي تِلْكَ السَّاعَاتِ

    ✧ The sun rises with a horn of Satan, and when it rises high, he leaves it; when it is at its zenith, he joins it; when it declines, he leaves it; when it approaches setting, he joins it; when it sets, he leaves it. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade prayer during those times.

    إِنِّي مُكَاثِرٌ بِكُمُ الْأُمَمَ، فَلَا تَرْجِعُوا بَعْدِي كُفَّارًا يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُكُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ

    ✧ I am competing with you for the nations, so do not return after me as disbelievers, striking one another's necks.

    أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَبْصَرَ نَاقَةً حَسَنَةً فِي إِبِلِ الصَّدَقَةِ، فَقَالَ: قَاتَلَ اللهُ صَاحِبَ هَذِهِ النَّاقَةِ، قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي ارْتَجَعْتُهَا بِبَعِيرَيْنِ مِنْ حَوَاشِي الْإِبِلِ، فَقَالَ: فَنَعَمْ إِذًا

    ✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a fine she-camel among the camels of zakat, and he said: May Allah fight the owner of this she-camel. He said: O Messenger of Allah, I took it back with two camels from the outskirts of the camels. He said: Then yes, indeed.

    إِنِّي فَرَطٌ عَلَى الْحَوْضِ، وَإِنِّي مُكَاثِرٌ بِكُمُ الْأُمَمَ، فَلَا تَقْتَتِلُنَّ بَعْدِي

    ✧ I will precede you to the Hawd, and I will vie in numbers with you against the nations, so do not fight one another after me.

    حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، وَأَبُو أُسَامَةَ، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنِ الصُّنَابِحِيِّ الْأَحْمَسِيِّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِثْلَهُ

    ✧ Abu Bakr narrated to us; Ibn Numayr and Abu Usama narrated to us; they said: Isma'il narrated to us, from Qays, from al-Sunabihi al-Ahmasi, from the Prophet ﷺ, the like of it.
