✧ Some people asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about soothsayers, so he said: "They are nothing." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, they sometimes tell us something, and it turns out to be true." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "That is a word of truth; he snatches it from the jinni and places it in the ear of his ally, then they mix with it a hundred lies." Ali said: Abd al-Razzaq said, "It is mursal: 'the word is from the truth.' Then it reached me that he later connected its chain."
Notes
machine translationʿAlī said: ʿAbd al-Razzāq said: "The word of truth" is mursal (with the Companion omitted from the chain). Then it reached me that he later narrated it as musnad (with a connected chain).
