✧ What Sa'id b. al-Musayyib narrated from Abu Hurayra

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ: نَا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ، قَالَ: نَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَقَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِيمَا يَرْوِيهِ، عَنْ رَبِّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى قَالَ:

الْكِبْرِيَاءُ رِدَائِي وَالْعَظَمَةُ إِزَارِي، فَمَنْ نَازَعَنِي وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمَا أَكْبَبْتُهُ أَوْ أَلْقَيْتُهُ فِي النَّارِ

✧ Pride is My cloak and might is My lower garment; whoever contends with Me for either of them, I will fling him or cast him into the Fire.
