حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي غَالِبٍ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُعَلَّى الْأَدَمِيُّ، قَالَا: نَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ، قَالَ: نَا الْمِنْهَالُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

مَا مِنِ امْرِئٍ إِلَّا وَفِي رَأْسِهِ حِكْمَةٌ، وَالْحِكْمَةُ بِيَدِ مَلَكٍ، فَإِنْ تَوَاضَعَ قِيلَ لِلْمَلَكِ ارْفَعِ الْحِكْمَةَ، وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْتَفِعَ قِيلَ لِلْمَلَكِ: ضَعْ حِكْمَتَهُ

✧ There is no person but has wisdom in his head, and wisdom is in the hand of an angel. If he is humble, the angel is told: Raise the wisdom. And when he wants to rise, the angel is told: Lower his wisdom.
