✧ Musaylimah the Liar came during the time of the Prophet ﷺ, and he arrived in Madinah and began to say: 'If Muhammad makes the affair mine after him, I will follow him.' He came with a group of his people, and the Prophet ﷺ approached him, accompanied by Thabit b. Qays b. Shammas, and in the Prophet's hand was a piece of palm stalk, until he stopped at Musaylimah—may the curse of Allah be upon him and his companions—and the Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'If you were to ask me for this piece, I would not give it to you, and you will never go beyond the decree of Allah concerning you. I will indeed show you what I was shown, and this is Thabit b. Qays who will answer you on my behalf,' then he turned away from him. Ibn Abbas said: 'I asked about the saying of the Prophet ﷺ: I will show you what I saw, or the dream that I saw concerning you.' He said: 'Abu Hurayrah informed me that the Prophet ﷺ said: While he was sleeping, he said: I saw in my hands two bracelets of gold, and it was revealed to me in the dream to blow on them, so I blew on them and they flew away. I interpreted them as the two liars: al-Ansi and the other, Musaylimah, the companion of Yamamah.'
