✧ What Anas narrated from Abu Hurayra

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ حَبِيبِ بْنِ الشَّهِيدِ، قَالَ: نَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

إِذَا تَقَرَّبَ الْعَبْدُ إِلَى اللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى شِبْرًا تَقَرَّبَ اللهُ إِلَيْهِ ذِرَاعًا، وَإِذَا تَقَرَّبَ مِنْهُ ذِرَاعًا تَقَرَّبَ إِلَيْهِ بَاعًا

Translation

✧ When a servant draws near to Allah, Blessed and Exalted, a handspan, Allah draws near to him an arm's length. And when he draws near to Him an arm's length, He draws near to him a fathom.
