Translation
✧ The people asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until they pressed him with questions. Once he said: 'Ask me, for you will not ask me about anything except that I will make it clear to you.' The people fell silent and feared that a great matter had befallen. Anas said: 'We began looking right and left, and I saw no one but every man wrapping his head in his garment.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kept saying: 'Ask me, you will not ask me about anything except that I will make it clear to you.' A man stood up from the side of the mosque and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, who is my father?' He said: 'Your father is Hudhafah.' The man's name was Kharijah. When 'Umar saw that, he stood and said: 'We are pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad as Messenger. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of trials.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'I have never seen a day like today in good and evil. Paradise and Hell were depicted for me, and I saw them beyond that wall.'
