حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ، نَا أَنَسُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ، عَنْ شَرِيكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ:

مَا صَلَّيْتُ وَرَاءَ إِمَامٍ أَخَفَّ صَلَاةً مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، وَلَا أَتَمَّ، وَإِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَيَسْمَعُ بُكَاءَ الصَّبِيِّ وَرَاءَهُ فَيُخَفِّفُ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ تُفْتَنَ أُمُّهُ.

Translation

✧ I never prayed behind an imam whose prayer was lighter or more complete than the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. If the Messenger of Allah ﷺ heard a child crying behind him, he would lighten the prayer for fear that its mother would be distressed.
