وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ، نَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِي، نَا اللَّيْثُ، نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيُّ، عَنْ شَرِيكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَامَ فَحَذَّرَ النَّاسَ فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: مَتَى السَّاعَةُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ: اقْعُدْ فَقَدْ سَأَلْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ مَا يَكْرَهُ، ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّانِيَةَ فَقَالَ: مَتَى السَّاعَةُ ؟ فَتَبَيَّنَ فِي وَجْهِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَشَدَّ مِنَ الْأُولَى. يَعْنِي الْكَرَاهَةَ. قَالَ: فَأَجْلَسْنَاهُ ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّالِثَةَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مَتَى السَّاعَةُ ؟ قَالَ: وَيْحَكَ، مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا ؟ فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ: أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا حُبَّ اللهِ وَرَسُولِهِ. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: اجْلِسْ فَإِنَّكَ مَعَ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ.

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood and warned the people. A man stood and said: "When is the Hour, O Messenger of Allah?" We said to him: "Sit down, for you have asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ something he dislikes." Then he stood a second time and said: "When is the Hour?" The dislike became more apparent in the face of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ than the first time. He said: "We made him sit down." Then he stood a third time and said: "O Messenger of Allah, when is the Hour?" He said: "Woe to you, what have you prepared for it?" The man said: "I have prepared for it love of Allah and His Messenger." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Sit down, for you will be with those you love."
