✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ used to give me a gift, and I would say: "Would that you gave it to someone more in need of it than me." He would say: "O 'Umar, what God gives you of this wealth without you asking or craving for it, then eat it and give it in charity." He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ sent me something, and I returned it. When I came to him, he said: "What made you return what I sent to you?" I said: "O Messenger of God, you said: 'It is better for you not to ask people for anything.'" He said: "That is only when you ask people. What comes to you without asking is a provision God has provided for you."
