✧ 'Umar b. al-Khattab said to a freed slave of his called Hunayy: "O Hunayy, bring near the owner of the small flock and the little sheep, and leave me from the sheep of Ibn 'Affan and Ibn 'Awf. For if their livestock perish, they will return to wealth; but if the owner of the little sheep and the small flock perishes, he will come and say: 'O 'Umar, O 'Umar.' And water and pasture are easier for me. Indeed, these are their wealth for which they fought in the Jahiliyyah and upon which they embraced Islam."
