The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to move his lips with something that could not be understood. So we said: "O Messenger of Allah, you move your lips with something that cannot be understood." He said: "A prophet among the prophets was impressed by the great number of his people, and he said: 'Who can match these?' or 'Who can stand up to these?' It was said to him: 'Let your companions choose between our setting an enemy over them who will violate their sanctuary, or hunger, or death.' So he gave them the choice and they chose death. Seventy thousand of them died in three days." He said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "And I say: O Allah, with You I fight, with You I strive, and with You I attack, and there is no power and no strength except with You."
