✧ A man from Quraysh broke the tooth of a man from the Ansar, and he sought help against him from Mu'awiya. The Qurashi said: This man knocked out my tooth. Mu'awiya said: Not at all; we will satisfy him. He said: When the Ansari persisted against him, Mu'awiya said: Your affair is with your companion. Abu al-Darda' was sitting, so Abu al-Darda' said: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: No Muslim is afflicted with something in his body and gives it in charity except that God raises him by it a degree and removes from him by it a sin. He said: The Ansari said: Did you hear this from the Messenger of God ﷺ? He said: Yes, my two ears heard it and my heart retained it, meaning, so he pardoned him.
