✧ I met Abu al-Darda' - Ibn Abi 'Adi said in his hadith: I came to Syria and met Abu al-Darda' - he said to me: From which people are you? I said: From the people of Kufa. He said: Will you recite to me the recitation of Ibn Mas'ud? I said: Yes. He said: Recite: "By the night when it covers." I said: "By the night when it covers, and the day when it appears, and the male and the female." He said: Is this how you heard the Messenger of God ﷺ recite it? He said: I think so. He said: Then he laughed.
