✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent for Uthman b. Affan, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turned to face him. When we saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turn to him, some of us turned to each other. The last words he said to him were when he struck his shoulder and said: "O Uthman, Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, may clothe you in a garment. If the hypocrites want you to take it off, do not take it off until you meet me." He said it three times. I said to her: "O Mother of the Believers, where was this in your memory?" She said: "I forgot it, by Allah, and I did not remember it." He said: "Then I informed Mu'awiyah b. Abi Sufyan, and he was not satisfied with what I informed him until he wrote to the Mother of the Believers: 'Write to me about it.' So she wrote to him a letter."
