حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا فَرَجُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ قَرَظَةَ عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ خِيَارُكُمْ وَخِيَارُ أَئِمَّتِكُمُ الَّذِينَ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَيُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُصَلُّونَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَيُصَلُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَشِرَارُكُمْ وَشِرَارُ أَئِمَّتِكُمُ الَّذِينَ تُبْغِضُونَهُمْ وَيُبْغِضُونَكُمْ وَتَلْعَنُونَهُمْ وَيَلْعَنُونَكُمْ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَفَلَا نُقَاتِلُهُمْ؟ قَالَ لَا مَا صَلَّوْا لَكُمُ الْخَمْسَ أَلَا وَمَنْ عَلَيْهِ وَالٍ فَرَآهُ يَأْتِي شَيْئًا مِنْ مَعَاصِي اللهِ فَلْيَكْرَهْ مَا أَتَى وَلَا تَنْزِعُوا يَدًا مِنْ طَاعَتِهِ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said: 'The best of you and the best of your leaders are those whom you love and they love you, and you pray for them and they pray for you. The worst of you and the worst of your leaders are those whom you hate and they hate you, and you curse them and they curse you.' They said, 'O Messenger of God, should we not fight them?' He said, 'No, as long as they pray the five prayers for you. Indeed, whoever has a governor and sees him committing something of disobedience to God, let him hate what he does, but not withdraw a hand from obedience to him.'
