حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ
صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى مَيِّتٍقَالَ فَفَهِمْتُ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ عَلَيْهِ اللهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَاغْسِلْهُ بِالْمَاءِ وَالثَّلْجِ وَنَقِّهِ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا نَقَّيْتَ الثَّوْبَ الْأَبْيَضَ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ prayed over a deceased person. He said: 'I understood from his prayer over him: O God, forgive him, have mercy on him, wash him with water and snow, and purify him from sins as You purified the white garment from dirt.'
