حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا النَّهَّاسُ عَنْ شَدَّادٍ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ قَالَ
يَا طَاعُونُ خُذْنِي إِلَيْكَ قَالُوا لِمَ تَقُولُ هَذَا؟ أَلَيْسَ سَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ لَا يَزِيدُهُ طُولُ الْعُمُرِ إِلَّا خَيْرًا ؟ قَالَ بَلَى فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ وَكِيعٍ

✧ 'O plague, take me to you.' They said, 'Why do you say this? Did you not hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'Indeed the believer's long life only increases him in good'?' He said, 'Yes.' Then he mentioned the like of the hadith of Waki'.
