حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَزْهَرَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ ذِي الْكَلَاعِ عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقُولُ الْقُصَّاصُ ثَلَاثَةٌ أَمِيرٌ أَوْ مَأْمُورٌ أَوْ مُخْتَالٌ

Translation

Chain of narrators

  2. Muʿāwiyah b. Ṣāliḥ
  3. Azhar / Ibn Saʿīd
  4. Dhī al-Kalāʿ
  5. ʿAwf b. Mālik

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say, 'The storytellers are three: a commander, one commanded, or a conceited person.'
