حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِعَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ
أَنَّ أَصْحَابَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، مِنَّا رِجَالٌ يَتَطَيَّرُونَ، قَالَ: ذَاكَ شَيْءٌ تَجِدُونَهُ فِي أَنْفُسِكُمْ فَلَا يَصُدَّنَّكُمْ، قَالُوا: وَمِنَّا رِجَالٌ يَأْتُونَ الْكُهَّانَ، قَالَ: فَلَا تَأْتُوا كَاهِنًا

✧ The companions of the Prophet ﷺ said: “O Messenger of Allah, among us are men who practice augury.” He said: “That is something you find in yourselves, so let it not hinder you.” They said: “And among us are men who go to soothsayers.” He said: “Do not go to any soothsayer.”
