✧ I was with the Prophet ﷺ on a donkey, and on it was a pack-saddle or a blanket. He said: 'That was at sunset.' He said to me: 'O Abu Dharr, do you know where this sun goes?' I said: 'God and His Messenger know best.' He said: 'It goes and prostrates before its Lord [Mighty and Majestic] beneath the Throne. Then it asks permission, and permission is given to it. It is about to prostrate, but that will not be accepted from it. Then it asks permission, and permission is not given to it. It is said to it: "Return from where you came." So it rises from its setting place. That is His saying: "And the sun runs to its resting place. That is the decree of the Mighty, the Knowing" (Q 36:38).'
