✧ While I was walking with the Messenger of God ﷺ, he holding my hand, and a man was on his left, we came upon two graves before us. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "They are both being punished, and they are not being punished for something major. Indeed yes—so which of you will bring me a palm stalk?" We raced, and I got ahead of him and brought him a palm stalk. He split it into two halves and placed a piece on this grave and a piece on that grave, then said: "It will be lightened for them as long as they remain moist. They are not being punished except for urine and backbiting."
