حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ بَهْزِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ
قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، عَوْرَاتُنَا مَا نَأْتِي مِنْهَا، وَمَا نَذَرُ ؟ قَالَ: احْفَظْ عَوْرَتَكَ إِلَّا مِنْ زَوْجَتِكَ، أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ يَمِينُكَ، قُلْتُ: أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ الْقَوْمُ بَعْضُهُمْ فِي بَعْضٍ ؟ قَالَ: إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ لَا يَرَاهَا أَحَدٌ فَلَا يَرَاهَا، قُلْتُ: أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ أَحَدُنَا خَالِيًا ؟ قَالَ: فَاللهُ [تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى] أَحَقُّ أَنْ يُسْتَحْيَا مِنَ النَّاسِ
Translation

✧ I said: O Messenger of God, our private parts—what may we expose of them and what must we conceal? He said: Guard your private part except from your wife or what your right hand possesses. I said: What if people are with one another? He said: If you can manage that no one sees it, then let no one see it. I said: What if one of us is alone? He said: God [Blessed and Exalted] is more deserving that one be modest before Him than before people.
