حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ قَيْسٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَقْرَمَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي

أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ أَبِيهِ بِالْقَاعِ مِنْ نَمِرَةَ قَالَ: فَمَرَّ بِنَا رَكْبٌ فَأَنَاخُوا بِنَاحِيَةِ الطَّرِيقِ، فَقَالَ أَبِي: أَيْ بُنَيَّ، كُنْ فِي بَهْمِكَ حَتَّى آتِيَ هَؤُلَاءِ الرَّكْبَ فَأُسَائِلَهُمْ، قَالَ: دَنَا مِنْهُمْ وَدَنَوْتُ مِنْهُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، فَإِذَا فِيهِمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، فَصَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُمْ وَكَأَنِّي أَنْظُرُ إِلَى عُفْرَتَيْ إِبْطَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَجَدَ

Translation

✧ He was with his father at al-Qa' of Namirah. A riding party passed by us and made their camels kneel at the side of the road. My father said, "O my son, stay with your livestock until I go to these riders and ask them." He drew near to them, and I drew near to him, and the prayer was commenced. Among them was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so I prayed with them, and it was as if I was looking at the whiteness of the armpits of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he prostrated.
