✧ We arrived with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the morning of the fourth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, all of us assuming ihram for the Hajj. The Prophet ﷺ commanded us, so we circumambulated the House, prayed the two rak'ahs, and went between al-Safa and al-Marwah. Then he commanded us, and we shortened our hair. Then he said: Exit ihram. We said: O Messenger of Allah, exit ihram for what? He said: Exit ihram for what is lawful for the one not in ihram of women and perfume. He said: The women were approached, and the incense burners sent forth their fragrance. Khalaf said: It reached him that some of them were saying: One of us goes to Mina while his private part drips semen. He said: He preached to them, praised Allah and extolled Him, then said: If I had known earlier what I know now, I would not have driven the sacrificial animals, and if I had not driven them, I would have exited ihram. So take your rites from me. He said: The people remained in their state of having exited ihram until the Day of Tarwiyah, and when they wanted to go to Mina, they assumed ihram for the Hajj. He said: The sacrificial animal was upon whoever found it, and fasting upon whoever did not, and he shared among them their sacrificial animals: the camel among seven and the cow among seven. Their circumambulation of the House and their going between al-Safa and al-Marwah were for their Hajj and their 'umrah as one circumambulation and one going.
