✧ "He saw a stain in the direction of the prayer niche in the mosque, so he poked at it until we recognized it on his face. He scratched it and said, 'When one of you stands up for prayer, they are conversing with their Lord, or their Lord is conversing with them between them and the prayer niche. Let them spit if they happen to spit to their left or under their foot.' He gestured as if it were on his garment. He said, 'We used to say to Humaid, and he would say, "Glory be to Allah, who is he referring to?" meaning the Prophet ﷺ, and he would not give us any more explanation.'"
