حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَسَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ
يَقْدَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ غَدًا قَوْمٌ، هُمْ أَرَقُّ قُلُوبًا لِلْإِسْلَامِ مِنْكُمْ، قَالَ: فَقَدِمَ الْأَشْعَرِيُّونَ فِيهِمْ أَبُو مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيُّ، فَلَمَّا دَنَوْا مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ جَعَلُوا يَرْتَجِزُونَ يَقُولُونَ: غَدًا نَلْقَى الْأَحِبَّهْ مُحَمَّدًا وَحِزْبَهْ، فَلَمَّا أَنْ قَدِمُوا تَصَافَحُوا، فَكَانُوا هُمْ أَوَّلَ مَنْ أَحْدَثَ الْمُصَافَحَةَ
Translation

✧ A people will come to you tomorrow who are more tender-hearted toward Islam than you. He said: So the Ash'aris arrived, among them Abu Musa al-Ash'ari. When they drew near to Madinah, they began to chant: 'Tomorrow we shall meet the beloved, Muhammad and his party.' When they arrived, they shook hands, and they were the first to introduce the handshake.
