✧ While a bedouin was in one of the outskirts of Madinah with some sheep of his, a wolf attacked and seized a sheep from his flock. The bedouin caught up with it, rescued the sheep, and drove the wolf away. The wolf turned back, walking, then sat back on its haunches with its tail between its legs, and addressed him, saying: 'You have taken a provision that Allah provided for me.' He said: 'How amazing! A wolf sitting on its haunches with its tail between its legs speaking to me!' It said: 'By Allah, you are leaving something even more amazing than that.' He said: 'What is more amazing than that?' It said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ is among the palm trees between the two lava fields, telling the people about the news of what has passed and what will come after that.' He said: So the bedouin drove his sheep until he brought them to a part of Madinah, then walked to the Prophet ﷺ and knocked on his door. When the Prophet ﷺ had prayed, he said: 'Where is the bedouin owner of the sheep?' The bedouin stood up, and the Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'Tell the people what you heard and what you saw.' So the bedouin told the people what he had seen of the wolf and what he had heard from it. The Prophet ﷺ then said: 'He has spoken the truth. There are signs that will occur before the Hour. By Him in whose hand is my soul, the Hour will not come until one of you leaves his family and his sandal, whip, or staff informs him of what his family did after him.'
