حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ
سُئِلَ عَنِ الْإِزَارِ ؟ فَقَالَ: عَلَى الْخَبِيرِ سَقَطْتَ، سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: إِزْرَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ السَّاقَيْنِ، لَا جُنَاحَ أَوْ لَا حَرَجَ عَلَيْهِ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْكَعْبَيْنِ، مَا كَانَ أَسْفَلَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ فِي النَّارِ، لَا يَنْظُرُ اللهُ إِلَى مَنْ جَرَّ إِزَارَهُ بَطَرًا
Translation

✧ He was asked about the lower garment. He said: “You have asked one who knows. I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: ‘The believer's lower garment is to mid-calf. There is no sin or harm on him in what is between that and the ankles. Whatever is below that is in the Fire. God does not look at one who drags his lower garment out of pride.’”
