حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ حَدَّثَنَا ضِرَارٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُرَّةَ أَبُو سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَا

إِنَّ اللهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ: إِنَّ الصَّوْمَ لِي وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ، إِنَّ لِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَيْنِ: إِذَا أَفْطَرَ فَرِحَ، وَإِذَا لَقِيَ اللهَ فَجَزَاهُ فَرِحَ. وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ، لَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ

Translation

✧ God, Mighty and Majestic, says: “Fasting is for Me, and I reward for it. The fasting person has two joys: when he breaks his fast he rejoices, and when he meets God and He rewards him he rejoices.” By the One in whose hand is Muhammad's soul, the breath of a fasting person is sweeter to God than the scent of musk.
