حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:

أَصَبْتُ سَيْفًا يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ فَأَعْجَبَنِي، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، هَبْهُ لِي. فَنَزَلَتْ: يَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الأَنْفَالِ قُلِ الأَنْفَالُ لِلهِ وَالرَّسُولِ

Translation

✧ I obtained a sword on the day of Badr and it pleased me. I said: O Messenger of Allah, grant it to me. Then it was revealed: 'They ask you about the spoils of war. Say: The spoils belong to Allah and the Messenger.'
