حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

إِذَا زَنَتْ أَمَةُ أَحَدِكُمْ فَتَبَيَّنَ زِنَاهَا فَلْيَجْلِدْهَا وَلَا يُثَرِّبْ، ثُمَّ إِنْ زَنَتْ فَلْيَجْلِدْهَا الْحَدَّ وَلَا يُثَرِّبْ - قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: يَعْنِي لَا يُعَيِّرْهَا - ثُمَّ إِنْ زَنَتْ فَلْيَجْلِدْهَا الْحَدَّ وَلَا يُثَرِّبْ، ثُمَّ إِنْ زَنَتْ فَلْيَبِعْهَا وَلَوْ بِضَفِيرٍ

Translation

✧ If the slave woman of one of you commits adultery and her adultery becomes clear, he should flog her and not blame her. Then if she commits adultery again, he should flog her the prescribed punishment and not blame her—Sufyan said: meaning he should not reproach her—then if she commits adultery again, he should flog her the prescribed punishment and not blame her. Then if she commits adultery again, he should sell her, even for a rope of hair.
