وَعَنْ عَمِّهِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي، لَأَخَّرْتُ الْعِشَاءَ الْآخِرَةَ إِلَى ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ، فَإِنَّهُ إِذَا مَضَى ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ الْأَوَّلُ، هَبَطَ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا، فَلَمْ يَزَلْ بِهَا حَتَّى يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ، يَقُولُ: أَلَا تَائِبٌ ؟ أَلَا سَائِلٌ يُعْطَى ؟ أَلَا دَاعٍ يُجَابُ ؟ أَلَا مُذْنِبٌ يَسْتَغْفِرُ فَيُغْفَرُ لَهُ ؟ أَلَا سَقِيمٌ يَسْتَشْفِي فَيُشْفَى ؟

✧ Were it not that I would make things difficult for my community, I would have delayed the last 'Isha' prayer until a third of the night. For when the first third of the night passes, Allah, Mighty and Majestic, descends to the lowest heaven and remains there until dawn breaks, saying: 'Is there any repentant one? Is there any asker who might be given? Is there any caller who might be answered? Is there any sinner seeking forgiveness who might be forgiven? Is there any sick person seeking healing who might be healed?'
