Translation

✧ Umar b. al-Khattab wrote to Abu Musa: Pray Dhuhr when the sun declines from the meridian; pray Asr when the sun descends while it is still white and clear; pray Maghrib when the sun sets; and pray Isha when the twilight disappears, up to whatever time you wish. It was said: up to midnight is a concession, and after that is excess. Pray Subh while the stars are visible and intertwined, and prolong the recitation. Know that combining two prayers without an excuse is one of the major sins.
