وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنِ الْغِيبَةِ، فَقَالَ: أَنْ تَقُولَ لِأَخِيكَ مَا يَكْرَهُ، وَإِنْ كُنْتَ صَادِقًا فَقَدِ اغْتَبْتَهُ، وَإِنْ كُنْتَ كَاذِبًا فَقَدْ بَهَتَّهُ
Translation
✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ was asked about backbiting, so he said: "That you say about your brother what he dislikes. If you are truthful, then you have backbitten him, and if you are lying, then you have slandered him."
