✧ Would you harm one another in seeing the sun when there is no cloud beneath it? Would you harm one another in seeing the moon on the night of the full moon? They said: No. He said: Thus you will see Him. Allah will gather the people on the Day of Resurrection, and He will say: Whoever used to worship something, let him follow it. So those who used to worship the sun will follow the sun, those who used to worship the moon will follow the moon, and those who used to worship false deities will follow the false deities, until this Ummah remains, including its intercessors. The bridge will be set up across the midst of Hell. Then I will be called, and I will be the first to speak. On that day none will speak except the messengers, and the supplication of the messengers on that day will be: O Allah, grant safety, grant safety. On the bridge there will be hooks like the thorns of the sa'dan plant. Have you seen the sa'dan? They said: Yes. He said: They are like the thorns of the sa'dan, except that no one knows the extent of their size except Allah, the Mighty and Majestic. They will snatch people according to their deeds. Among them is the believer who will be saved by his deed, and among them is the one who will be recompensed—or a word resembling it that Ibrahim did not memorize—until when Allah finishes the judgment between the servants, He commands the angels to bring out of the Fire whoever did not associate anything with Allah, among those whom Allah wishes to show mercy. They will bring them out and recognize them by the marks of prostration. Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, has forbidden the Fire to consume the marks of prostration. The water of life will be poured upon them—or he said: from the water of life—and they will grow as a seed grows in the silt carried by a flood. A man will remain, facing the Fire, saying: O Lord, turn my face away; its wind has scorched me and its smoke has burned me. He will say: Did you see that if I grant you that, you will ask Me for something else? He will say: No, by Your might. He will give Allah whatever covenants and pledges He wishes. He will continue supplicating until He turns his face away from the Fire. When he turns his face toward Paradise, he will remain silent as long as Allah wills him to remain silent. Then he will say: O Lord, bring me forward to the gate of Paradise. Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, will say: Woe to you—or: Woe to you—O son of Adam, how treacherous you are! Did you not give Me your covenants and pledges that you would not ask Me for anything other than what I gave you? He will continue supplicating until He says: Perhaps if I grant you that, you will ask Me for something else. He will give his Lord whatever covenants and pledges He wishes that he will not ask Him for anything else. So He will bring him forward to the gate of Paradise. When he stands at the gate of Paradise, Paradise will open up for him, and he will see what is in it of joy and delight. He will remain silent as long as Allah wills him to remain silent. Then he will say: O Lord, admit me to Paradise. He will say: O son of Adam, how treacherous you are! Did you not give Me your covenants and pledges that you would not ask Me for anything other than what I gave you? He will say: O Lord, I do not want to be the most wretched of Your creation. He will continue supplicating and asking Him until it is said to him: Enter Paradise. Then it will be said to him: Wish. He will wish, until Allah reminds him of such and such, until when his wishes are exhausted, He will say: This is for you and the like of it with it. 521 - (6361) - Ata b. Yazid said: Abu Sa'id was with Abu Hurayra, listening to his hadith without rejecting anything from it, until when he said: This is for you and the like of it with it, Abu Sa'id said: This is for you and ten times the like of it. Abu Hurayra said: I did not memorize from his statement except: This is for you and the like of it with it. Abu Sa'id said: I bear witness that I memorized from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said: It is for you and ten times the like of it. Abu Hurayra said: That is the last man to enter Paradise.
