حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَيْسَ بْنَ أَبِي حَازِمٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ
كُنَّا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ فَقَالَ «إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ الْقَمَرَ لَا تُضَامُونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ لَا تُغْلَبُوا عَلَى صَلَاتَيْنِ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا» ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا}

✧ We were with the Messenger of God ﷺ on the night of the full moon, and he said: “Indeed you will see your Lord just as you see the moon, not being harmed in seeing Him. So if you are able not to be overcome in respect of two prayers before sunrise and before sunset, then do so.” Then he recited this verse: {And glorify the praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting.}
