حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ - رِوَايَةً - قَالَ:

لَا تَلَقَّوُا الرُّكْبَانَ لِلْبَيْعِ، وَلَا تُصَرُّوا الْإِبِلَ وَالْغَنَمَ، فَمَنِ ابْتَاعَهَا بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ بِخَيْرِ النَّظَرَيْنِ، إِنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يُمْسِكَهَا، وَإِنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يَرُدَّهَا بِصَاعٍ مِنْ تَمْرٍ، لَا سَمْرَاءَ

Translation

✧ Do not go out to meet the caravans for trade, and do not tie the udders of camels and sheep. Whoever buys them after that has the better of the two options: if he wishes, he may keep them, or if he wishes, he may return them with a saa' of dates, not wheat.
